Press Kit

This page collects the official Nixcademy logo in every variant we use ourselves. Every file is offered as an SVG (vector, scales to any size) and as an uncompressed, transparent PNG at 2048 pixels on its longer edge.

You may use these files to refer to Nixcademy — for conference programs, partner pages, articles, slide decks, and the like — as long as the logo stays unmodified. If you need a different format, a different resolution, or the print-ready source files, just write to hello@applicative.systems.

Usage Guidelines

  • Do not recolor, stretch, rotate, or otherwise redraw the logo.
  • Do not rearrange the wordmark and the snowflake into a Nixcademy mark of your own. (The bare snowflake is a different matter — see below.)
  • Keep clear space around the logo of at least the height of the N in “Nixcademy”, and do not place it on a busy background.
  • Use the white variant on dark backgrounds and the color or black variant on light ones, so that the contrast stays readable.
  • Do not use the logo in a way that suggests a partnership, endorsement, or certification by Nixcademy that does not exist.

Origin and Credits

The Nix and NixOS logo (“Snowflake”) that is part of our logo was designed and made available by Tim Cuthbertson (@timbertson) under the CC-BY 4.0 license.

That license lets anyone use and adapt the snowflake, as long as the attribution above is given — our own logo came about in exactly that way. So the guidelines on this page are about the Nixcademy wordmark and the combined logo, which are property of Applicative Systems GmbH; they say nothing about what you may do with the snowflake itself.
